What to Expect

The Richmond Park Polo Academy has sessions that will make this your perfect summer of polo.

Mounted on our exceptional polo ponies, and led by our expert coaches, you’ll learn through instructional chukkas and carefully designed technique work that builds skill, confidence and game understanding.

Schedule

From late April to the end of the summer, we run four sessions per week for beginners and four sessions per week for more advanced players. The sessions times are as follows:

Tuesday & Thursdays

Beginners

18:00 - 19:00

Advanced players

19:00 - 20:00

Saturday & Sundays

Beginners

15:00 - 16:00

Advanced players

16:00 - 17:00

PLEASE NOTE: To attend the academy you must already be a confident rider.

Pricing

Club members can book academy sessions online, priced at £150 per session.

Seasonal membership is priced at £295.
Induction sessions are three hours long and are priced at £295, including pony hire.
Academy sessions are  priced at £150 per hour-long session, including pony hire.

FAQs

Do I need to be a member of the club in order to book academy sessions?

Yes, you must first become a member of the club, and then you’ll be able to book Academy sessions to suited to your level and ambitions (beginner or advanced).

What do I need to bring?

It’s best if you can bring your own hat and boots.

Where do the academy sessions take place?

Training sessions are held on our polo ground in Richmond Park – between Sheen Cross and Roehampton Gate.

Do I need to be able to ride a horse before I can join?

Yes, only confident riders are eligible to join at the moment.

Is there a minimum age for academy members?

Yes, we can only take players over the age of 16 at the moment.
